Nestled in the cozy basement of the Art Building, Parnassus has provided coffee and goodies to campus patrons since the 1950s. UW Dining, a unit of HFS, is proud to continue the legacy of the beloved hangout as it assumes operational oversight of Parnassus.
The funky, artsy vibe and laid-back ambiance of the café will live on. UW Dining has taken special measures to keep Parnassus’ enduring appeal to students, staff and faculty who faithfully frequent it.
We serve exclusively organic, shade-grown, Fair Trade certified coffees from Fidalgo Bay Coffee Roasters at Parnassus. The small roaster won over the School of Art and UW Dining with their amazing coffees and the story behind their care and quality.
The range of food offerings at Parnassus will grow with an emphasis on locally-made items for Parnassus patrons’ wide range of eating requirements.
Students, staff and faculty with Husky Card Accounts will be very happy to know that Parnassus now accepts Husky Cards for the first time, after always having been a cash-only café. Parnassus will also accept Visa, MasterCard and debit cards for any purchases over $5. And, in keeping with its tradition, the café will continue to be run by students with administrative support from HFS.
Half of the café’s profits will go directly to the School of Art scholarship program and the other half will go toward capital improvements.
