Facilities Design Assistant, Job 111
We are now accepting applications for a student Facilities Design Assistant in our Facilities Services and Planning Office. This position participates in the design, development and coordination of HFS projects under the direction of the Facilities Design Manager and the Assistant Director for Facilities Operations. The role is primarily in an office environment, with a Monday–Friday daytime schedule for at least 10 hours per week during autumn, winter and spring quarter and for 40 hours per week during summer quarter. Our preferred applicants would be architecture students in their junior year or above with working knowledge of design-related software such as AutoCAD and/or Revit, Adobe Creative Suite 5 and SketchUp. A Washington State driver's license that has been valid for at least two years is required for this position because there may be occasional driving of UW vehicles. Student Multimedia Coordinator, Job 170
We are now accepting applications for a Student Multimedia Coordinator with our Communications and Marketing team. This position will assist, plan and implement a comprehensive social media program using the HFS Facebook pages, Twitter accounts, Instagram and other emerging technologies as appropriate. There will be a focus on work with videography and photography for this position. We are looking for current UW Seattle-campus students with interest in communications, business, marketing, social media and/or Web/graphic design who have experience with videography and photography. We are also looking for students with flexibility and availability to work evenings/weekends as needed to capture events on campus. The person in this position will be scheduled to work 15–19.5 hours per week.
Office Assistant for HFS Facilities Services, Job 171
We are now accepting applications for an Office Assistant in our Facilities Services and Planning Office. This position supports HFS Facilities Services through general office support with a heavy emphasis on customer service for residents, fellow staff, associated contractors and vendors of the UW. The person in this position will need to be willing to drive a UW vehicle to different locations as well as walk around campus performing various tasks and projects in our facilities. Desk Services Summer Conference Student Staff, Jobs 124 and 126
We are now accepting applications from students who would like to work at our residence hall front desk locations this summer 2014! We are hiring students for both our daytime/evening position and our overnight position at our 24-hour desk locations. Please use Job 126 to apply for the overnight (graveyard shift) position specifically. Summer Conference Desk Hosts provide front desk services for summer conference guests and the general public in the residence halls. Successful Summer Conference Desk Hosts are detail oriented and possess the ability to follow instructions, accurately handle transactions on a cash register, remain courteous and calm under pressure, solve problems and thrive in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment. The typical schedule is eight hours, five days per week, but varies each week according to conference activity. Desk Services Academic Year Student Staff, Job 108
We are now accepting applications for residence hall front desk student staff. We are seeking employees who have administrative and customer service experience. This position will provide assistance in person and over the phone to students and staff living and working in the residence halls, as well as other members the UW campus community. Typical duties include room check-in and checkout, lockout assistance, sorting and delivering mail, and tracking keys and front desk items available for checkout. Student Dining Staff, Job 101
In this position, you will be serving and preparing food, cleaning the kitchen and dining areas, dishwashing and cashiering. You must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and possess or be eligible for a valid food worker card. We are particularly looking for students who have some availability between 10 am and 3 pm on weekdays to support our high-volume lunch period service. HFS can hire international students of F1 or J1 status who are attending the UW as full-time, matriculated students (minimum undergraduate or graduate credits may be required). You also have to have been in the United States for at least 10 days before you can be hired. If you are hired, we will give you information about applying for your Social Security card, which you may be able to apply for up to 30 days before your start date.
