Student & Financial Services Areas of Operation

  • Conference Services: Manages communications, contracts and services with current and potential conference clients, groups and organizations affiliated with the UW, and coordinates with Desk Services to manage building occupancy and services during the summer conference season
  • Desk Services: Provides customer service and residential services including check-in, checkout, building access and mail delivery for approximately 6,000 student residents, as well as service to various offices, staff and guests
  • Financial Services: Accounting, payroll and financial operations
  • Husky Card: Administers the UW student/employee ID card (Husky Card) that facilitates access to some buildings, use of the ORCA transit-payment system, payment for meals in our dining units, and payment for other related services at the UW and UW-affiliated locations 
  • Purchasing, Planning & Budgeting: Supports units throughout the department, including the Director's office, with short-and long-range financial planning and management
  • Student Services: Manages student housing applications, resident accounts and building occupancy for our residence halls and apartments and provides customer service to current and potential students

Residence Hall Desk Supervisor, Haggett Hall, Req #130390

The Desk Supervisor is a collaborative job, working with a strong team of leaders to ensure student desk staff are selected, well trained and able to provide excellent customer service for building residents, University staff and guests to the UW campus. Haggett Desk provides housing and mail service to 820 residents, and provides mail and key support to the Haggett Hall Custodial office, Residence Life office and Bay Laurel Catering.

This position will typically work a Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. schedule.

Desk Services Operations & Accounts Manager, Req #130161

The Operations and Accounts Manager exercises substantial responsibility for directing and controlling the housing billing and collection operations, system development and maintenance, reporting efforts, marketing and outreach, communication efforts and the housing application, agreement and assignments process. This position regularly performs professional level administration and management of a non-routine nature which requires independent judgment and decision making. The Operations and Accounts Manager has delegated decision making authority to allocate resources and establish policies, methods, procedures, and work rules for HFS Student Services. This position supports HFS operations and ensures Student Services activities conform to institutional and Department policies and regulations.
