Getting to Campus

From the Airport

Taxi, limo, town car and shuttle services are located on the 3rd floor parking garage of the Sea-Tac International Airport. For shuttle services returning to Sea-Tac International Airport, 24-hour advance reservations are required.

King County Metro operates an extensive system of public transportation designed to allow users to access a wide variety of locations in King County with minimal difficulty.

Light Rail Service

From Sea-Tac International Airport, board the Central Link light rail system heading north to Seattle. The trip takes approximately 35 minutes. Pay the fare before boarding Central Link light rail. Exit at any of the downtown Seattle transit centers (International District/Chinatown, Pioneer Square, University Street and Westlake), and transfer to a northbound bus #71, 72 or 73 to the University District. The buses will stop on NE Campus Parkway.

For Haggett Hall, Hansee Hall, and McMahon Hall

Exit the bus at NE Campus Parkway and Brooklyn Avenue NE. Walk 100 feet to Bay #2 and get on bus #65, #68, #75, #372 or any bus taking Stevens Way through campus. Show the driver your transfer pass. Entering the main gate onto campus, the bus will turn left onto NE Stevens Way at the first intersection. In front of Padelford Hall, at the corner of Pend Oreille Road NE and NE Stevens Way, exit the bus. Walk north along NE Stevens Way, passing Pend Oreille Road NE on your right. Continue straight onto Whitman Court. The first building on the right is McMahon Hall, followed by Haggett Hall and Hansee Hall (in that order). The North Campus Conference Desk is located in McMahon Hall.

For Alder Hall, Elm Hall, Lander Hall, Poplar Hall and Stevens Court

Exit the bus (#71, 72 or 73) on NE Campus Parkway. The West Campus Conference Desk is located in Lander Hall.

Shuttle Express Service

On the baggage claim level, please see airport signage for the current location. Advance reservations are required for trips returning to Sea-Tac International Airport. Shuttle Express

Driving to Campus

To Haggett Hall, Hansee Hall, and McMahon Hall

Via Interstate 5

Take exit 169, NE 45th Street and turn east (right if traveling north, left if traveling south) onto 45th Street. Travel east on NE 45th Street to 17th Avenue NE and turn south (right) onto campus. After stopping at the campus gatehouse, turn left (east) onto NE Stevens Way. Turn left (north) onto Whitman Court; McMahon Hall, Haggett Hall and Hansee Hall (in that order) will be on your right. The North Campus Conference Desk is located in McMahon Hall.

Via WA State Route 520

Take the Montlake Boulevard NE exit. Turn north onto Montlake Boulevard NE, proceed over the bridge, and pass Husky Stadium on your right. Merge into the far left lane (do not follow the road as it curves to the right). Turn left (west) onto campus at the stoplight at NE 44th Place and Pend Oreille Road NE. Proceed up the hill after stopping at the gatehouse. At the stop sign at the top of the hill, turn right (north) onto NE Stevens Way, and immediately take another right onto Whitman Court. McMahon Hall, Haggett Hall, and Hansee Hall (in that order) will be on your right. The North Campus Conference Desk is located in McMahon Hall.

To Alder Hall, Elm Hall, Poplar Hall, Stevens Court and Lander Hall

Public metered parking is available outside of Lander Hall, where the West Campus Conference Desk is located. All guests are subject to parking policies of the city of Seattle.

Via Interstate 5

Take exit 169, NE 45th Street and turn east (right if traveling north, left if traveling south) onto 45th Street. Travel east on NE 45th Street to Roosevelt Way NE. Turn south (right) on Roosevelt Way NE. Continue driving south until you pass NE 42nd Street. Merge into the left turn lane and turn left onto NE Campus Parkway at the last stop light prior to the University Bridge. Lander Hall will be on your right. The West Campus Conference Desk is located in Lander Hall.

Via WA State Route 520

Take the Montlake Boulevard NE exit. Turn north onto Montlake Boulevard NE; quickly merge into the far left lane and proceed over the Montlake Bridge. At the first traffic light after the bridge, turn left (west) onto NE Pacific Street; continue past the UW Medical Center on your left. Turn right (north) onto Brooklyn Avenue NE. After you pass NE 40th Street, Lander Hall will be on your left. The West Campus Conference Desk is located in Lander Hall.

Parking

All guests must stop at a campus gatehouse (if it is open) to purchase a permit and receive directions to their destination.

Limited parking is available for visitors on campus; carpooling is strongly encouraged. Parking fees are charged daily, Monday through Friday, and on Saturday from 7 am to noon. There is no charge to park after noon on Saturday through midnight on Sunday, and on UW holidays. Rates are subject to change without advance notice. Parking fees are payable upon entrance to the campus. Recreational campers and trailers are not permitted to park in UW parking lots.

Guests staying overnight in the residence halls will pay for one day of parking at the gatehouse as they enter campus. Parking permits valid for the entire stay may be purchased separately during check-in at the Conference Desk. Parking permits allow guests to enter and exit campus as they please. Disability parking permits or other special parking accommodations should be arranged in advance through Conference Services.
