Nutritional Information Now Available

HFS is working to implement a new nutrition program involving the implementation of an industry standard recipe and menu-management system, including collaboration with our food providers and consultations with dietary experts, in an effort to provide our students and the campus community with detailed nutrition facts on the menu items we serve.

Nutrition facts are now available that contain the same format and details as any nutrition label you'd find on a product at the grocery store. While our goal is to make it as easy as possible for our customers to search for specific menu items and filter results, it will take some time to implement the necessary technologies. However, we want you to be able to access the information in the meantime.

To find nutrition facts for a menu item, simply click on the corresponding menu category to the right to view the PDF of the nutrition facts. Menu items are organized alphabetically within the PDF for each menu category.

If you are having difficulty finding the nutrition information you are looking for, please contact us at uwdining@u.washington.edu.

Medically Related Dietary Restrictions

We provide many options in our dining venues for customers with dietary restrictions, however our normal offerings may not meet everyone’s needs. We strive to ensure that residents with a medically related dietary restriction (MRDR) are able to live and dine safely in our facilities.

The first step in formally requesting a MRDR consultation is to provide us that information on your housing application. After receiving your housing application, a representative from UW Dining will contact you to further discuss dining options and how to safely eat on campus. Our team is happy to meet with students to provide information, develop an action plan and make accommodations if needed. In the consult with HFS Dining staff* some items that will be discussed include:

  • Discuss specific dietary needs and explore options including use of reservable kitchens
  • Learn how to access ordering options
  • Tour dining facility on campus by residence
  • Understand how to eat safely on campus through early access to meals plans, understanding menu boards icons, and color coding of food prep areas

* For students starting in autumn quarter, these MRDR consults are typically scheduled starting in June.

If you want to find a roommate with similar needs (i.e. peanut allergies) you are encouraged to review UW Housing roommate’s page. If you find a roommate after submitting your UW Housing application, you may edit your preferences in the housing application until June 30.

If you have any questions while awaiting your assessment, feel free to contact us at uwdining@uw.edu.
