Veggies on Forks

Nutritional Information Now Available

HFS is working to implement a new nutrition program involving the implementation of an industry standard recipe and menu-management system, including collaboration with our food providers and consultations with dietary experts, in an effort to provide our students and the campus community with detailed nutrition facts on the menu items we serve.

Nutrition facts are now available that contain the same format and details as any nutrition label you'd find on a product at the grocery store. While our goal is to make it as easy as possible for our customers to search for specific menu items and filter results, it will take some time to implement the necessary technologies. However, we want you to be able to access the information in the meantime.

To find nutrition facts for a menu item, simply click on the corresponding menu category to the right to view the PDF of the nutrition facts. Menu items are organized alphabetically within the PDF for each menu category.

Nutritional Symbols: Pilot Program

HFS is working to provide nutritional information on the foods we serve. Our goal is to be able to provide complete nutritional information for every menu item just like the information presented on food-product packaging. We are not there yet, but as a first step, we have created a set of nutritional symbols geared to help you identify items that are vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free. If you would like more information about a menu item, please feel free to talk to the chef or email us at uwdining@u.washington.edu.

 

Vegetarian Vegetarian Nutritional Symbol

Any entrée or meal that is meat and meat product-free. The item may contain dairy products or eggs.

Vegan Vegan Nutrition Symbol

Any entrée or meal that is free of all animal products.

Gluten-Free Gluten Free Nutritional Symbol

Any entrée or meal that is free of gluten.

For Residence Hall Students with Medically-Related Dietary Restrictions
