Where does the UW’s food come from?

Whenever possible, we order from companies that share our goals of sustainable agriculture, local sourcing and zero solid waste. You can read more online about our sustainability stories. A large percentage of our products are purchased through US Foods.

Where can I find vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free choices on campus?

All of our restaurants and cafés offer vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. If you do not see any items that fit your dietary needs, ask for assistance or contact uwdining@uw.edu for more information.

Can you adjust some of your menu items for my dietary needs?

Many of the dishes prepared in our restaurants can be tailored for those with dietary needs. Please communicate these restrictions before placing your order. Prepackaged items cannot be remade; however, complete nutritional information is displayed on the labeling.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, the Husky Card Account—a debit account any UW student, faculty or staff member can open—and HFS Dining Accounts at all of our locations. All of our locations accept cash except Local Point, The 8 and the food trucks in Red Square.

What on-campus dining options are available for visiting groups?

Visiting groups can dine just about anywhere on campus. We do request that you give some advance notice if your group includes more than 50 guests. Check out our Dining for Visiting Groups page for more information.

Do you cater?

Yes. Bay Laurel Catering’s online ordering system allows you to pick a menu, select your items, and tell us where and when your event is scheduled to occur. You can repeat a previous order or develop an idea with a specialist.

Which dining locations are open late and on weekends?

Many of our locations are open late and on weekends. Please visit our Dining Hours page for a complete list of our locations and when they're open.

Can UW staff and faculty dine at residence hall restaurants?

UW staff and faculty are welcome in all of our dining units, all of which are equipped with Wi-Fi. Cultivate accepts reservations.

How does UW Dining determine its prices?

UW Dining sets prices to cover the cost of our operations, which includes buying ingredients, paying the wages and benefits of our employees, and paying utilities and overhead costs. Prices can also be impacted by changes in our contracts, as well as market and commodity pricing. Read more about our pricing

With a Level 1-6 dining plan, you are eligible to receive a free drink each time you visit the residential dining areas, Local Point and The 8, offering a significant savings to overall meal costs. You'll also receive 10 percent off the purchase of a Husky Meal at Local Point and The 8. The new Husky Meal provides a well-rounded lunch or dinner at a residents-only discount to maximize your dining dollars.

Are you hiring?

What is a Dining Account?

The Dining Account is HFS' meal plan program, tailored for residence hall students to use at any UW Dining restaurant, café, food truck, espresso bar, market and in many campus vending machines.
