Summer Dining at The 8
Each summer, The 8 changes over to an all-you-care-to-eat buffet style of dining, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner for early fall start students and conference guests staying on campus.
The campus community is welcome to enjoy the all-you-care-to-eat lunch, offering a full salad bar, a deli with made-to-order sandwiches and a hot lunch special daily. Pay with your Husky Card or Dining Account and enjoy a special discounted rate. When large numbers of conference guests are expected, even more dining variety is added. Restaurants (Fall Quarter through Spring Quarter)
Abundo serves daily breakfast, lunch and dinner specials as well as weekend brunch. Abundo’s specials menu is posted above and updated every Friday night. Look for home-style meals like rosemary roasted turkey breast or local salmon with a blood orange gastrique as well as more adventurous, international fare. Abundo also hosts a taco bar for lunch and dinner every Tuesday and a build-your-own pasta bar.
Broiler Zone serves signature burgers, sandwiches, fries and tots. Look for weekly specials like the Cali Burger, an all-beef patty with pepper jack, bacon, guacamole, onion, lettuce and tomato on a toasted bun, or The Gainsbourg—1/3 lb all-beef patty with sautéed mushrooms, Dijon mayo and provolone. Familiar favorites are also on hand like corn dogs, fish and chips, and black bean burgers.
Pagliacci Pizza routinely tops the list of Seattle Weekly’s customer favorite pizza restaurants and uses locally sourced ingredients whenever possible, such as spicy pepperoni made by Salumi, a local charcuterie often featured on The Food Network. Wild Greens is a made-to-order deli, salad bar, soup station and all-day parfait bar ready to satisfy your hunger with a variety of options. Order a nice oven-roasted turkey with bacon and provolone on nine grain, or lighten it up with tofu and hummus on a baguette. Maybe a spinach salad piled high with chickpeas and fruit is more to your liking. At Wild Greens, there’s always something new to discover.
Joe Haus proudly brews Starbucks coffee and offers a wide assortment of grab-and-go pastries, bagels and homemade treats. We also bake our own banana bread and cookies in house. Other goodies come from local companies like Blazing Bagels, Alki Bakery, Essential Baking Company and Cupcake Royale. Start your day with a latte and a flaky croissant or indulge that sweet tooth with a muffin or scone.

Pagliacci accepts UW budget numbers for catering orders. And, students living on campus can use their HFS Dining Account for Pagliacci orders if they order in person at The 8 or Local Point.
